This is part of our Athlete Development Program, offering world-class training for 9-19 year-olds in our state-of-the-art Human Performance Center. We offer expert guidance and a 1:4 strength coach to athlete ratio. Each participant receives evaluation, testing, education, prescriptions, and training. The workouts address strength, power development, speed/agility/quickness, functional and sport-specific work, and metabolic conditioning.
Although scientific and medical authorities support children’s participation in resistance exercise programs, they have cautioned parents, teachers, and coaches about the need for proper program design, competent supervision, and correct teaching of exercise techniques—areas that are paramount for safe and effective programs. The National Strength and Conditioning Association, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Pediatrics all have stated that children benefit from participation in a properly prescribed and supervised resistance training program.
